I just bought Crypto, why do I have negative returns?

Like all crypto exchanges, Sarwa Crypto has a spread, which is the difference between the bid and ask. When trading Crypto, the price includes a 1.5% spread from the midpoint on all buy and sell transactions, which is in line with the industry. This means the price reflected in the chart (market price) differs slightly from the execution price of your trade.

For example, if the market price of a cryptocurrency is USD 100:

  • The chart will reflect USD 100 (market price)
  • When buying, the cost will be USD 101.50
  • When selling, you will receive USD 98.50

Because the spread applies immediately, you may see a small negative return right after purchasing. However, your returns will adjust based on market movements.
