What is extending hours trading?

Extended hours trading allows you to buy and sell securities before and after the regular trading hours, through limit orders only.

⏰ Reminder: Regular Market Hours (UAE time):

  • During U.S. daylight saving time (March to November): Markets are open from 5:30 PM to 12:00 AM UAE time.
  • During U.S. standard time (November to March): Markets are open from 6:30 PM to 1:00 AM UAE time.

How it works?
- Order Types:
Available for Limit Buy and Limit Sell orders only.
- Toggle Option: Enable the toggle to make your limit orders available in extended hours.
- Availability: Extended Hours are from: 12:00 PM - 5:30 PM GST & 12:00 AM - 4:00 AM GST.
Expiration: Limit orders can only be placed with an expiry of 'until of next market close'. There is no option to expire when you want to cancel it.

What are the benefits of trading during extended hours?
- Flexibility:
Trade at times that are convenient for you, outside the traditional market hours.
- Strategic Advantage: Hedge against fluctuations by reacting to market news/earnings reports outside of market hours, without having to wait until the next market open.

What are things to considers when trading in extended hours?
- Lower Liquidity:
There may be fewer participants, leading to wider bid-ask spreads.
- Increased Volatility: Price fluctuations can be more pronounced due to lower trading volumes.
- Non-Fractionable Assets: Some assets can't be fractioned in limited extended hours orders. You'll be notified on-screen if this applies when you attempt a trade.

Note: When there is pre market data for a stock on the day but the market isn’t open, there will be this time view that you can see before the 1D view that will appear. It will show the pre market historical price for the day. Keep in mind this historical data is delayed 15 min, it will disappear when the market opens, and this view only appears if the stock has pre market data on that day.
