Fractional shares allow you to purchase a decimal amount of shares of a stock. Instead of having to purchase a full stock, you can decide to buy 0.1 shares of a stock, 2.2 shares of stock, etc. This allows you to invest in smaller and/or more precise amounts of a specific stock.
Please note that fractional shares are not available for all stocks.
