How are my returns calculated by position?

For each existing position you currently hold in your account, you can see the following information under "Your holdings" (see image below):

    1. Shares: number of shares held of that stock
    2. Average price: average entry price for that stock
    3. Value: total value for that position
    4. Total return: total return for that position

How is the average price calculated? The average price is a mathematically calculated figure used to calculate returns and does not impact the actual cash flows. Please refer here to learn more, as different methods are used to calculate the average price when there are intraday trades.

Total return per position ($) = Total market value  - (Average price * Number of shares held)

Total return per position (%) = Total return in $ / (Average price * Number of shares held)

📝 Please note position returns don't include the fee as the commission is not included in the average price paid, but the total return includes all transactions and fees, given they are removed from the overall balance.
